BIK (Credit Information Bureau — Biuro Informacji Kredytowej)

An institution that collects data on loans and their repayment, supplied by banks and SKOKs (credit unions). Banks check BIK before every credit decision.

BIK shows both commitments repaid on time and late payments. A good history helps, while having none can be a minus, because the bank has nothing to base its assessment on. You can download a report about yourself on the BIK website.
