Easement (służebność)

A limited property right that encumbers a property for the benefit of another property or a specific person — e.g. a right of way across a plot or a right to live in a flat.

An easement is usually entered in Section III of the land and mortgage register and passes to subsequent owners. A personal easement, e.g. a lifelong right of residence for the previous owner, can seriously limit your use of the flat you bought.
