Lowering your mortgage margin

There are two ways to lower the margin: negotiate an annex with your current bank, or refinance with a bank offering a lower margin. A lower margin cuts the payment for the whole remaining term. Work out the effect below.

Annex or refinancing

An annex with your current bank is often quicker and cheaper, but the bank does not always come down on the margin. Refinancing opens up the lowest margins on the market, but brings the cost of moving.
