Reference rate / benchmark (wskaźnik referencyjny)
A published interest-rate index on which the variable interest rate of a loan depends. The bank adds its margin to it.
In Poland this was mainly WIBOR for years. A reform is under way in which it is to be replaced by a new index — POLSTR was chosen, and WIRON, which had been named earlier, is no longer the planned successor. The index is not set by your bank but by its administrator, according to an approved methodology.
